Love, Joy, Peace...
We are an active church!
Discover the strength and support that comes from being part of a community of believers. Whether you're looking to deepen your faith, find a place to serve, or simply connect with others, our church offers a variety of opportunities to get involved.
Worship
Join us each Sunday at 9:00am for worship. Wherever you are in your walk of faith, you are welcome here! Our worship services generally follow a Lutheran liturgical framework, with prayers, scripture readings, an inspirational message and lots of music. Volunteers are always welcome to serve as ushers, lectors (scripture readers), communion assistants, worship leaders and to help set up the altar. When we are outside in the summer additional people are needed to set up chairs and equipment.
FELLOWSHIP
Church Picnics
Monthly church picnics are hosted during summer months by the men's groups in the lower level of the church or out in the garden. Come and eat for free on Wednesday picnic nights. Other groups host periodic feeds (such as a steak and chop fry, chili, soup or lasagna) during other times of the year. Check the calendar of events for details.
WELCA
WELCA is our dynamic women's group and serves the fundamental mission of the church through various outreach, social and service initiatives run, and self-funded, by the women of the church. Note: There are many more women than those pictured here who are active. We are active in monthly Bible study, purchasing items for the kitchen, serving funerals and weddings, sending get well cards and flowers and reaching out to members of the community in need. WELCA stands for Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (our parent denomination).
Men's Group
Men's group is meeting at 8:30 am every Thursday at church. Join us for fun, fellowship and perhaps a few projects. This is another very popular group. It is not a Bible study but more of a fellowship group with coffee, treats and conversation. Contact Ed Lee or Scott Jasperson if you have questions, otherwise, just show up.
Coffee Fellowship
Coffee Fellowship time is held in the lower level immediately after church. Come down for a treat and a beverage, and to connect with friends. Volunteers are always needed to host it by making coffee and bringing morning treats. See the signup sheet gathering area.
Pop-up Dinners
Pop-up dinners are informal affairs, happening most Thursday evenings at the Earthwood Inn. Check the church calendar on the home page to see if there is one this week! Occasionally we change locations, so check with Pat Meyer or Helene Hedlund if you can't find us.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Lectio Divina
This is a very popular group. Join the Lectio Divina/Dig Deeper group every Tuesday at 9 am as we wrestle through the deeper meanings of the weekly scripture text. Join us in person (sometimes also on zoom). All are welcome. Just show up. Contact Randi Alreck if you have questions.
MUSIC
JOYFUL Choir
Join our choir JOYFUL as we share our talents, praise God and sing for joy. Led by extraordinary choir director Patti Stoddard. We practice on Tuesdays at the church at 6:30pm (5pm on nights when WELCA meets). In addition to the main choir we also have a women's choir (Seraphim), a men's chorus and occasionally smaller groups as well. Contact Patti if you'd like more information.
Dulcimers
If you can play, or want to learn how to play the mountain dulcimer, come visit us in the sanctuary, Thursday mornings at 8:30am. Beginners welcome. This group is open to anyone who plays any musical instrument. Guitars are especiallly welcome. Come also if you just want to sing along. We have lots of fun trying out new things.
Knife River Ringers
Our bell choir has been providing a special musical emphasis to our worship services since 1997, primarily during the non-Summer months. Practices are held Monday afternoons at 2pm. If you are interested in joining us, please talk to LeeAnn Olson.
Sticks and Strings
Sticks and strings plays hymns and songs of worship in a bluegrass style. Instruments have included banjo, guitars, ukuleles, harmonica, dulcimers, mandolin and a snare drum. If you have an acoustic instrument and would like to join you are encouraged to give it a try.

Memorial Garden
Those interested in making sure the Memorial Garden looks its best are needed to adopt a spot in the garden for summer upkeep. Contact Steve Berger if you are interested.
Creation Care Team
The Creation Care Team’s goal is to empower our congregation to be part of Lutherans Restoring Creation, an ELCA program that recognizes creation as a gift of God entrusted to our care. As a congregation, we seek to incorporate creation care into our worship life, educational programs, the maintenance of building and grounds, our personal discipleship at home and work, and in our public witness. For more information contact Lawrence Burkhart.
Food Shelf
Volunteers are always welcome to help out at the Two Harbors Area Food Shelf.
Community Garden
Knife River has a community garden plot that it tends. Food is donated to the Two harbors Area Food Shelf. Contact Anne Jasperson if you are interested in helping out.
Red Kettle
