There are activities for children each Sunday and youth activities throughout the year.

Children's Church
Sunday school classes are held at 9:15 on Sundays during the worship service. Children's Church classes are held for K-3rd graders and Kid's Connect classes are held for 4-6 grade. Volunteers are always welcome to assist (held in the lower level).

For kids of all ages!
VBS happens in August each year. The theme varies, in 2025 it was "The Treasure Hunt" and included lots of fun Bible activities for kids, such as puppet shows, action songs, games, and of course, super fun treasure hunts!

God's Global Barnyard
Children’s Church and VBS offerings go to ELCA’s God’s Global Barnyard. The Barnyard (gifts of animals) supports sustainable development ministries of ELCA’s efforts to eliminate world hunger. The Christian Education program is led by Lawrence Burkhard. We’d love to have you join the group of adult leaders. Julebyen Live Nativity
During the first full weekend of December each year, Knife River celebrates it's Scandinavian Christmas festival (called Julebyen). One of the best activities is the Live Nativity held on Sunday. The church provides the actors as well as carolers and animals! It is a grand event you do not want to miss, or better yet, participate in.
Youth
Confirmation
Our congregation hosts a Confirmation Program for 7th and 8th graders. We use a flexible format, meeting once a month as a group, and doing other learning and activities at home or online. Our first group meeting is typically held in October at the church; we strongly encourage students and parents to attend the introductory meeting! Adults are also welcome to attend!

Center for Changing Lives
The church actively supports the Center for Changing Lives (CFCL) located in Duluth. This facility serves homeless and disadvantaged youth throughout our region.
